about

When I was in high school, I remember writing lyric after lyric, melody after melody; all in attempt to achieve some level of success in writing a “good” song.

I found a notebook full of lyrics written during that time not too long ago. They ranged from cringe-worthy to bad at best.

I started focusing more on guitar than bass my senior year. Somewhere in there, I wrote three songs, including “The Shield.” Cheesy as the song may be, it was the first song that I felt a sense of accomplishment for writing.

Music has been a therapy of sorts for me along my journey. As responsibilities grew and life became a bit more complex, music became a great way to relieve stress. When I hold a guitar, sometimes, it feels easier to express something I don’t know how else to say.

What does “I like your style and you’re grace” even mean?

I don’t know. But, I’m going to keep trying to write that “good” song.
